Thanks to Andrew Card, we can now understand just what Bush administration priorities were. No wonder Bush & Co. left us a blasted economy, a massive deficit, government agencies larded with incompetents and buffoons, two mismanaged wars, one totally gratuituous–the president and his staff had other more pressing concerns.

Now that these niceties are no longer being observed, Republican congressmen are free to apply lessons they learned from the Taliban to their work in the congress.  As Republican Jeff Pete Sessions somewhat incoherently put it:

“Insurgency, we understand perhaps a little bit more because of the Taliban,” Sessions said. “And that is that they went about systematically understanding how to disrupt and change a person’s entire processes. …

Based on Republican antics during the past-week’s roll-out of their anti-recovery strategy, I think we can conclude that they learned how to disrupt and destroy just like real terrorists.
