My son and I were there last night. I went to high school at the school where the stadium is. I was totally amazed that so many people in this deeply red part of the state showed up. It also really impresses me that Senator Obama is not willing to cede this part of the state to republicans. While I can’t vouch for it for sure but when he first hit the stage he seemed really impressed that many people showed up especially in this bastion of conservatism. I have to give credit to Claire McCaskill when she came on she cracked a pretty funny joke (paraphrased)”Am I in the right place? Someone told me that there were no democrats in Greene County!” Needless to say the crowd roared at that one.Once again it was an amazing sight and an simply amazing speech.
