After a very late night my day started relatively early with a look at volunteer Get Out the Vote training in Warrensburg.

A deputy regional field director for the Obama campaign speaks to volunteers at the start of GOTV training in Warrensburg.
I drove into the city – Blue Girl and I attended the start of Kansas City GOTV training for volunteers at 17th and Walnut in Kansas City. Dr. Jill Biden, spouse of Joe Biden, was here to address the Kansas City area volunteers.
The WiFi was really iffy, so we didn’t try to live blog the event.

Approximately 250 volunteers attended GOTV training in Kansas City.

Dr. Jill Biden:
“I have been in Missouri for [the past] four days…”
“…In sixteen short days the Show Me State is going to show us the way to elect Barack Obama in Missouri…”
“…This is the most important election in our lifetimes. [voices: “Yeah.”] And I love that Joe’s mother…says that this is the most important election in her life time…”
“…My students cannot afford four more years [of the same]…”
“…I’m a blue star mom…” [Beau Biden was recently deployed]
“…One of the things Barrack and Joe will do responsibly is end this war [applause]…”
“…This is Barack and Joe’s moment [applause, standing ovation]…”

Kansas City volunteers.
After Jill Biden left the volunteer training room and the training session resumed we were quickly (and politely) approached by campaign staff. “We will escort you out.” We packed up our equipment and we quickly found ourselves out a side door.
not as a blogger but as a volunteer. Man, it’s unreal how organized these people are. It’s like joining the army. And yet they plan to party at the polls. I’m not allowed to explain that paradox yet.
