About 10:20, my computer monitor started moving a tad and then my seat started to shake. My husband, raking leaves out of the flower beds, noticed nothing. So now we’re watching the cats to see if their superior senses are telling them anything. The one who usually snoozes all day is restless. But the other is sleeping like a log. So much for a warning from the animal kingdom.
when we moved to Detroit from the SF Bay area in California. Who knew that after only 3 1/2 years we would move to an area with a big and active fault. I woke just before it started last night and had a terrible panic attack–my first quake in the bedroom of a 2nd floor house–and it seemed like it lasted a very long time relatively speaking.
Well, the thought of being inside a burning building is pretty scary, and I have always had great respect for the “Big Winds of Tornado Alley”, but there is nothing to compare with the event celebrated in song as “I Feel the Earth Move Under My Feet”. Maybe we should show greater appreciation for our steady earth and all its delights.
I can’t tell you how many people (including my sister) have told me that their dog slept through the whole thing. I thought animals were supposed to be freaked out by these things?
Experiencing the aftershock on the 16th floor of a building was interesting.
to post misc. stuff in I’m going to post this here.
Who is Michael Carter and why is he sending me annoying robo-calls about some do not call list?
I pulled up his website for his Lt. Gov. race and it doesn’t say if he’s a Republican or a Democrat. I’m guessing Republican because he’s so annoying.
Anybody who does robo calls on a Saturday morning before 9:00 clearly has no real political skills.

I was going to put up an open thread late this afternoon, mainly so I could use the word “pornographer” in a positive sense on the front page. 😉

What earthquake are you talking about?
I guess it happened, but I didn’t feel anything in Warrensburg.
