Filing opened today for candidates running for state office. You can see filings for each office at the Secretary of State’s website. Notably, only the Republican powerhouses Richard Allen Kline and Scott Long have filed for the governor’s race so far.
referring to Jeff W. Schaeperkoetter as JWS?
It would take me some time to deal with having to type Schaeperkoetter over and over until August.
Rex Rector is in and no sign of David Pearce.
Cooooooooooooooool! Go Rex. Talk about that old time religion.
Danie Moore and Bob Onder are both officially in. Will Brock be able to rush to a victory based off of support from Gasconade County? We’ll see!
I think Richard Kline got the first line on the ballot in the Gubernatorial primary.
Other notable recipients of the first line:
Mark Powell, Chris Koster, David L. Pentland, Richard Monroe, Dr. Bob Onder (he can use the title Dr. on the ballot?), and Jeff W. Schaeperkoetter
is also about to step into the race in the 9th, according to the Columbia Tribune PoliticsBlog. So if he runs, it’s fair to mark that down as bad news for Judy Baker’s chances, right? (Even if she could finish ahead of Jacob, it would take votes from her in Boone County)
He’s assured several local party leaders and activists that he will not run. Besides, he already ran for president this cycle. 😉
…is the 17th Judicial Circuit. Joe Dandurand was recently appointed to the Western Court of Appeals. Matt “baby” Blunt hasn’t appointed a replacement in the 17th Judicial Circuit (who would shut down their law practice for a few months to then face election in November?).
Look who filed:
Yep. The republican Prosecuting Attorney of Johnson County who won her race (after the 2007 recount) in 2006 by 36 votes. And who stated, while running, that she planned to be in the job for a long time. Has anybody asked her why she left her job in Cass County? And now she wants to go back!
