The 9th District represented by Kenny Hulshof is very much due for a change. Hulshof’s refusal to meet with his constituents and his continued rubber stamp behavior for all things NeoCon makes this a must win seat. Rumor has it that Kenny is not all that enamored of his role as Representative in the minority. He did apply to be MU University President, and was passed over.
Perhaps he will decide to take some other position or otherwise not run for re election in the 9th, but Democrats must have a viable, good candidate in any case. Joe Maxwell is often mentioned and is said to be interested, as is Judy Baker, Rep in the 25th District, Columbia. If they do not enter the race, Duane Burghard will make another run for it.
They say that 9th district may be very much reconfigured and/or lost in the redistricting that is due. None the less, it is decision time folks. Lets get someone with real proud Democratic chops lined up for 9th District before November, OK?
Missouri’s 9th District needs new direction.

that Kenny is just waiting for 2010 in the hope that Bond won’t run again?
Not that we should wait for that, even if it’s true.
but second and third districts (Carnahan and Akin) are also likely to be involved. After the 2010 census, Missouri will likely lose a congressional seat, and that seat is most likely to come from the St. Louis area.
