There was a peaceful “Rally Against Truth Decay” at 12:30 p.m. today on the Johnson County Courthouse lawn in downtown Warrensburg, Missouri. The temperature was in the 90s. There were about 75 individuals in attendance who listened to speakers, held protest signs (against the excesses of the Trump [r] Administration), and signed initiative petitions.

It’s been one hell of a week in America.

“Hey MAGA, isn’t Karma a Bitch?”

Karma is indeed a bitch.

“Loving and Caring”

“Stop the Billionaire Coup”

At half staff on the courthouse lawn:

Charlie Kirk (r):

If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified.

If you’re a WNBA, pot-smoking, Black lesbian, do you get treated better than a United States marine?

Happening all the time in urban America, prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people, that’s a fact. It’s happening more and more.

If I’m dealing with somebody in customer service who’s a moronic Black woman, I wonder is she there because of her excellence, or is she there because of affirmative action?

If we would have said that Joy Reid and Michelle Obama and Sheila Jackson Lee and Ketanji Brown Jackson were affirmative action picks, we would have been called racists. Now they’re coming out and they’re saying it for us … You do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously. You had to go steal a white person’s slot to go be taken somewhat seriously.

We need to have a Nuremberg-style trial for every gender-affirming clinic doctor. We need it immediately.

I think it’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the second amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational.

America was at its peak when we halted immigration for 40 years and we dropped our foreign-born percentage to its lowest level ever. We should be unafraid to do that.

The American Democrat party hates this country. They wanna see it collapse. They love it when America becomes less white.

The great replacement strategy, which is well under way every single day in our southern border, is a strategy to replace white rural America with something different.

America has freedom of religion, of course, but we should be frank: large dedicated Islamic areas are a threat to America.

We’ve been warning about the rise of Islam on the show, to great amount of backlash. We don’t care, that’s what we do here. And we said that Islam is not compatible with western civilization.

Islam is the sword the left is using to slit the throat of America.

There is no separation of church and state. It’s a fabrication, it’s a fiction, it’s not in the constitution. It’s made up by secular humanists.

“Culture War – a smokescreen for – Class War”

“When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty”

“Johnson County Democrats”

“Kindness is like glitter. It spreads.”

“MO-GOP hates voters”

“Republican power grab…”

“Melt ICE, Deport Trump”

He turned the corner and kept shouting.

So much for civil discourse.

The First Amendment must really chap some people’s asses.

You were in town? So were we. Too bad we missed you.

4th Congressional District, former newsreader, Mark Alford, missouri, right wingnut, social media, that ridiculous hat, Warrensburg

If only you would have let us know.

Mark Alford (r) [2025 file photo]

This evening, from Mark Alford (r):

Congressman Mark Alford
[July 21, 2025]
Thanks for the warm welcome, Warrensburg!
Enjoyed lunch at Fitter’s with Mayor Bruce Uhler, City Manager Mike Schrage, Kristen Dorman, and Suzanne Taylor. We discussed securing funding for rural programs and key projects like the highway interchange to support our growing community.

Big group you got there.

Some of the responses to Mark Alford’s (r) social media post:

Congressman Mark Alford
We also shared our excitement for Whiteman Air Force Base and how proud I am of the folks who demonstrated the strength and power of our Defense Department through Operation Midnight Hammer.

Congressman Mark Alford By “securing funding” you mean going further in debt. [….]

Mr. Alford, during your August Recess, will you be having any town hall meetings to hear from your constituents? I’m talking about a real, in-person town hall, instead of just meet and greets, or a virtual town hall where you limit seating and have someone curate discussion, so you can pick who attends and what questions you’ll answer? You know, a public meeting where you have to listen to your constituents instead of just dismissing their questions and re-directing so that you can talk at them to tell them your party’s latest talking points?

Yeah, we were wondering about that, too.

Congressman Mark Alford, and yet again you are milking our military for political purposes. Did you also talk about how you voted to cut funding for rural hospitals and education? I think there’s a University in Warrensburg. In case you hadn’t noticed. 🙄

Yes, there is a state university in Warrensburg.

Did you discuss how the blue states fund the red states?

When are you going to address the rising costs of energy that’s in the big beautiful bill you support

Did you stop by the tv station [KMOS-TV] and tell them you had cut their funding?

What about the Epstein list?

Congressman Mark Alford, why didn’t you let your constituents know through Facebook that you were going to be at Fitters in Warrensburg??? I would have made sure I attended! This frustrates me that you don’t give us a chance to see you.

Apparently, Mark Alford (r) is still afraid of his constituents.

Congressman Mark Alford Are you going to demand that ALL the Epstein files be released to the public?

Congressman Mark Alford. Ground beef at Walmart in Maryville, Missouri is nearly $9/lb. Let’s ask if the cattle farmers in MO are being paid equivalently. How many Alford voters here voted for $9/lb hamburger? Are you WINNING yet? [….]

How do you plan to do that since you cut taxes for the rich? Disproportionately on the backs of the middle class and poor, right?

Congressman Mark Alford a/k/a Cockwomble – once again an “invitation only” photo op for you. You could give a rats ass about your constituents and are scared of us. You’re nothing but a fascist liar! Did you drive your Jaguar there or did we pay for a driver to take you? Did you have extra security detail and did we pay for that too?

Mark Alford (r) [2024 file photo].

Today at noon over seventy-five individuals gathered on the Johnson County Courthouse lawn in Warrensburg, Missouri to commemorate the birthday of John Lewis (D) and to resist the continuing excesses of the Trump (r) Administration.

There were chants. There is a joy in the battle. There was a cowbell.

There were honking horns. There was a shout – “Socialists” – from a passing car in the public street. Think about that for just a brief second. There were a few revved motors – you guessed it – from pickup trucks.

There were mostly honking horns.

“Good Trouble”

“Protect Public Ed!”

“Stop the ICEholes”

Later, a passerby stopped to “ask” about the flag. What did it mean? It turns out that the passerby was disturbed about this particular display. The holder explained what it meant, and added, “I am a veteran.”

“Melt ICE, deport Trump”

“Human rights”

“Separate Church and State”

“Where is the list? With Liberty and Justice for All.”

A benediction:

“Stop the billionaire coup”

“This is not okay”

There was a reporter from a national publication interviewing demonstrators.

The resistance will continue.

The Warrensburg, Missouri “No Kings” demonstration was scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. downtown on the lawn of the Johnson County Courthouse. We arrived on the lawn about 30 minutes before the official start. By the end of the rally there were approximately 500 in attendance, with people with signs facing Holden Street. The sky was sunny, the temperature was in the 80s, with many seeking the shade.

There was no march (it was too hot), there were speeches. There was no sound system.

There were several Warrensburg Police officers keeping watch. There was a significant amount of supportive horn honking from passing vehicles. There was one passing “smoker” truck displaying the frustration of an owner who was probably upside down on his payments.

“The Constitution is not a suggestion”

“Resist!”

“We have a Constitution, not a king”

“No Kings or tyrants in America!”

“More Cats, Less Fascism”

“No Kings”

“Nicaragua”

“No Kings in America, since 1776”

On Saturday hundreds of thousands of Americans will take to the streets across the country to protest the travesty which is the second Trump Administration. You can find a location near you via No Kings. At last word there were close to 2000 scheduled events.

The “No Kings” event in Warrensburg, Missouri will start at 1:00 p.m. downtown at the Johnson County Courthouse.

Yesterday:

Johnson County Missouri Democratic Central Committee

STATEMENT FOR PUBLIC RELEASE – JUNE 12 2025

Protests – Exercising your rights and staying safe

The protests in Los Angeles for the past several days and those anticipated nationwide this weekend, Saturday June 14, raise our awareness of First Amendment speech, personal constitutional rights and the role of the government(s) – national, state and local – to maintain law and order.

First, the JoCo Democratic Central Committee believes that the protests which have occurred in west central Missouri are vitally important to draw attention to the conduct of those who continue to ignore the rule of law, especially related to immigrants. We have participated in these events, gratefully exercising one of our most fundamental rights – the right to speak our minds even if critical of government action.

Second, America was and is made better by the vast majority of immigrants — and all of us, except Native Americans—descend from immigrant ancestors. Our diversity for 250 plus years has made the U.S. (to quote a former President of the other party), a “shining city on a hill” for the rest of the world.

Protesting is good and sometimes necessary, just like our founders believed.

Breaking the law and/or engaging in violence is wrong and distracts from the message we are trying to send the American people—that message: You can and should stand up for your own rights and that of other people in this country.

This weekend, if you choose to protest – and please do -, please be aware of your surroundings to keep yourself and your cherished friends safe while protesting. Show respect not only for those whose rights are at issue, but also for law enforcement – they have a job to do too and need your cooperation to do it.

We will participate in a peaceful protest at 1 pm on the 14 June at the Johnson County Courthouse, 300 N. Holden Street in Warrensburg.

Finally, remember our fellow Americans in Los Angeles and support them in whatever lawful way you choose —as we hope and try to avoid major violence there, in other major American cities and in our own backyard this summer. Stay strong and be safe.

This image of Pastor Heather Jepsen supporting the LGBTQIA+ community outside yesterday’s Pride Festival in Warrensburg, first published here, was later reproduced on a social media site:

The young “christian” woman getting mad at the word of the Lord. Rev. Heather reading the Bible about the teachings of Jesus. She gave the opening blessing to our Pride Event. She is a blessing.

A self-righteous right wingnut responded:

Hey [….]! the sweet young lady that’s being being yelled at by the lady with the megaphone is ironically the same one you harassed last year by sticking your phone in HER car and recording her.
In case you need a refresher…

The conversation continues:

[….] not sweet . She trespassed last year and this year she pushed up against a minister, an amputee causing balance issues and pain. She could have walked over and positioned herself 2 or 3 feet away but pushed into her. At least she learned not to tresspass and park her car on private property. There is some hope for her.

About last year.

[….] as to the recording someone who was trespassing you do understand they were trespassing? No law broken. There is always the opportunity not to tresspass then you won’t have an old guy telling you to leave or recording cars on property that I rented for the day.

Others pile on to the self-righteous right wingnut:

[….] you’re not really a martyr if you’re the one hammering in the nails on that cross you keep putting yourself on.

Okay, that one left a mark.

The self-righteous right wingnut responded:

Why would she get mad at having a megaphone shoved in her face? Great picture, saving it.

Uh, no. 1) That picture is owned by the photographer. It was taken of individuals acting in public and published at a news site. It is covered by copyright. 2) The toy bullhorn was not shoved in her face, she stepped into it and stood there.

The sequence of 47 images. The published image is sixteenth in the sequence:

By the way, for the clueless, those 47 images are covered by copyright, too.

Others continue piling on to the self-righteous right wingnut:

[….] she didn’t have a megaphone shoved in her face. She moved her self in front of the megaphone. These protestors are a bunch of whiny bigots that try to cause trouble. They harass people and then play the victim. Don’t fall for their scam

[….] she positioned herself there willingly to smother someone reading scripture.
But I’m sure they’ll find a way to manipulate it.

[….] the young woman walked over to the minister and placed her face there. She pushed her body up against the AMPUTEE causing her balance issues and pain. Make sure when you share the picture you share that. Who bumps an amputee ? Why get up in someone’s face? Why get upset with someone reading a Bible? Listen or ignore but respect the Reverend and allow her the space to read from the Bible.

[….] save the accurate description of it, too.

[….] Rev Heather’s church is open twice a week to feed the homeless, they help get documents/ IDs so they can get jobs, someplace to live, medical care. They open on very cold nights to insure everyone walks up alive in the morning. The cult that insist on trespassing and harassing others? The young woman walked over and placed herself in this position.
Question? How many meals have you bought ? How many meals have you cooked? Miles driven to help someone who lost documents in a fire to get duplicates? You ever sat up all night keeping a shelter open ?
If you belong to a church what actions has the church taken to help the poor or homeless ?
I have donated cows and the processing fee, usually a thousand dollars a year to homeless or abuse shelters, I usually drive 80 miles a month and spend 4 or 5 nights a winter keeping a warming shelter open.
I think you might want to take a look at your life and think about your church and ask yourself why do you get mad at others who clearly do good works in the community.
If you are a Christian why lie?

Pastor Heather’s description on her social media page:

A few words about this picture. I’m counterprotesting the haters at yesterdays Pride event. I am reading the Bible out of a TOY (!) megaphone I found at 5 below. 🤣 This is apparently so threatening to haters that they held a prayer circle, tried to block me with their signs, and started getting physical to push me out of their space. You would have thought Christians would like to hear Bible readings on a loud speaker. 🤨 But 1 John, the gospel of John, and Acts are taking things a bit too far. How small your god must be if even reading the Biblie itself is a threat. 🏳️‍🌈 God is love friends – don’t let anyone tell you different!!

Thus endeth the lesson.

Festival, LGBTQIA+, missouri, Pride, Warrensburg

The annual Pride Festival in Warrensburg was held today at a local event venue starting at 11:00 a.m. The festival included vendors, information, a food truck, a drag show, a panel discussion, a few speeches, and more. It was a good day.

“Hate has no home here”

Before the venue opened, unbeknownst to everyone but them, a group of allies set up a pair of rainbow umbrellas and camp chairs in the historical marker public park across the street from the venue. They had a lot of supportive signage. Apparently, there was some upset on the part of anti-LGBTQIA+ protesters who showed up later and wanted to claim the already occupied space for themselves. A sense of entitlement, perhaps. Throughout the day the anti-LGBTQIA+ protesters and counter protester/allies were lined up with their signs on both sides of the road.

“Honk for humanity”

Allies next to the road in front of the venue:

“Love one another as I have loved you”

For the anti-LGBTQIA+ protesters this is apparently an annual event. We couldn’t decide between “Name the band” or “Blink three times if you need help” as a label for this image. You’ll have to decide for yourself:

Maybe answering calls about purchasing an extended car warranty? Just asking:

And if Hooters, strip clubs, and drag shows are well lit what must one decide?:

Another ally:

“Mind your own damn business”

Not allies:

Where did they get those frightening images? Just asking.

Another ally:

Just the facts.

Ally, Pastor Heather Jepsen, reading passages from the bible to anti-LGBTQIA+ protesters outside the event venue:

Pastor Heather is a badass. Be an ally like Pastor Heather.

Inside the Pride Festival:

“Free Mom Hugs”

Information and resources.

Panel discussion.

Swag!

It was a very good day.
