If, like me, you are tired of hearing and seeing “failed stimulus” in Roy Blunt’s TV ads, how about countering that lie with some facts (not that facts hold any weight with Obama haters.) But there might actually be some Repubs or Indies up there in Northern MO who will listen and appreciate the fact that their internet service will be much improved because of, yes, it’s true, federal stimulus money.
According to the KC Star,$66.3 million in federal stimulus money will be used to “extend high-speed Internet in 59 northern Missouri counties, including all of those in the Kansas City metropolitan area.” (Jason Noble, Allison Long)
And, get this, private firms will construct the system which means jobs in that part of the state.
The right wing is getting a lot of mileage out of their lies about the stimulus money. Let’s talk about the successes. There are a bunch of them in the City of Pacific, and I’m going to make sure readers of our local paper know about them. What’s happening in your part of the state? How many people have jobs because of stim money? For those people, the program has been anything but a “failure.”
