A couple of pre-filed bills for the 2016 legislative session – from right wingnuts in our Missouri General Assembly:

HB 1899
Removes the current ban on carrying concealed firearms in higher education institutions

Sponsor: Taylor, Jered (139)
Proposed Effective Date: 8/28/2016
LR Number: 5391H.01I
Last Action: 12/18/2015 – Prefiled (H)
Bill String: HB 1899
[….]

[emphasis added]

Because Kansas is such a fine example of what constitutes thoughtful public policy.

And:

HB 1910
Removes the current ban on carrying concealed firearms in higher education institutions, but allows institutions to ban concealed firearms under certain conditions

Sponsor: Kelley, Mike (127)
Proposed Effective Date: 8/28/2016
LR Number: 5410H.01I
Last Action: 12/21/2015 – Prefiled (H)
Bill String: HB 1910
[….]

[emphasis added]

As if the second clause makes it any better?

The full text of each of the bills hasn’t been posted yet.

Interestingly, we haven’t seen a bill about allowing the general public to carry concealed firearms in the House and Senate galleries or in the hallways of the capitol. Must be an oversight.
