Today the U.S. Senate passed the Violence against Women act that was up for renewal. And what you need to know about Roy Blunt is that he was one of the 22 (male) Senators who voted against it.
This latest anti-woman vote is just the latest stone ol’ Roy has thrown in the continuing GOP war on women. Last year he voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act. He also introduced legislation to deny women comprehensive health coverage. He even reversed his original stand on Todd Akin’s legitimate rape statement and endorsed him for congress.
Some in the GOP want us to believe that they’re changing – or thinking about changing – their tune when it comes to women and minorities. But Roy Blunt is proof that you can’t change what’s dyed in the wool, and I suspect that the Missouri House delegation will provide more of the same when the VAWA surfaces there for final approval.
