And the republicans?:
@RepJoeWalsh Rep. Joe Walsh
Instead of being a prop of another one of the President’s speeches, next Thursday I will fly home to IL to talk to real job creators #tcot 5 hours ago via web
You think he’d show up if the speech was on Wednesday as originally discussed? Just asking.
You can’t negotiate with teabaggers. Almost everyone understands that.
Yesterday I heard Leonard Pitts whose column runs in the Post Dispatch on Sundays talk about President Obama. Why is he continually “surprised” at the “predictable”? He may totally understand that his opponents hate him for the person he is (a black man in the White House who is smarter than they are,) and he may not be able to come right out and say that. What choice does he have? He can act like he is the President of the United States and say “this is not negotiable. I would love to compromise with the other party, but they refuse, so HERE IS WHERE I STAND AND THAT’S THAT.”
Can you imagine him inviting the protesters outside the White House in for a chat? Over 400 have been arrested for objecting to the Keystone Pipeline that James Hansen says will be “game over” for the planet if that goes through. Imagine Obama going out to the protesters and shaking their hands and thanking them for protecting the country? Wow. All the apathy we have now for him and the Dem party would wash away with the tide.
Fired Up tells us about Rep. Billy Long’s insistence that we don’t need a jobs plan:
