On Thursday, August 19 at 8:00 AM, AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Liz Shuler will be in St. Louis to kick-off an unprecedented mobilization for the 2010 elections. She will join teachers and technical workers in downtown to handbill workers at One AT&T Center, 909 Chestnut spreading the word about Roy Blunt’s plan to privatize Social Security and his callous indifference to the nearly ten percent of Missourians who are unemployed.
Secretary-Treasurer Shuler’s visit to the largest building in Missouri will provide the opportunity to reach the hundreds of union workers at the downtown headquarters. She will highlight the choice between the U.S. Senate Candidate who will work for working families, and Blunt, “who votes for job-killing legislation every chance he gets, who wants to privatize Social Security and who will never vote for workers freedom to choose a union.”
This event is part of a major mobilization to engage the 450,000 Missouri families that belong to unions in the November election.
