Dave Drebes has yet another number for total votes for the committee that will in essence decide who the next state senator from the 4th District is.
I assume Dave knows better than I do, especially since he remembered to tally up votes for each committeeman and committeewoman, while I only assigned them to each ward. Also, he has committee votes apportioned by votes cast for governor within the district. This drops the 21st Ward committee members way down in terms of voting power.
70 votes from wards won by El-Amin, 50 votes from wards won by Smith, 20 from Gambaro wards, 4 from the 21st ward (won by Boykins).
Although that’s not a solid 70. Robert Hilgemann is the 17th committeeman (won very narrowly by El-Amin, split ward, 2 votes for him), Michael McMillan represents the 19th (won by El-Amin, split, 1 vote for him). Plus, El-Amin didn’t win a majority in the 18th. So deducting those wards reduces the total to 54 votes. And Joe Palm (26th committeeman, 6 votes) ran two primaries against TD El-Amin.
Should be one heck of a meeting.
