Major political factions are locked in battle, metaphorically at least, over historic efforts to reform health care and energy policy; our president is laying the foundations for a subtle and sophisticated foreign policy, and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch runs a thinly disguised advertisement for Purina cat-food “appetizers” smack dab on-top and in-the-middle of its front page! Do they get a payoff from Purina for doing this? Or are they now so thinly staffed that they can’t fill the already very depleted pages of the Monday paper?

and threw it on my porch….it felt like I was throwing a whiffle ball. There just isn’t any there there anymore.
when I saw that article on the front page yesterday. Is it possible they think readers don’t mind such blatant advertising? If so, they’re not giving their own readers much credit.
