Slay wins a third term as St. Louis mayor. Interestingly, I heard from some campaign workers that they would see a bonus if Slay topped 62% of the vote. He came up just 1.32 percentage points short of that margin.

if anyone were serious about getting rid of Slay, they would have been organizing behind a viable candidate long, long ago, building up a war chest and establishing the necessary infrastructure. I don’t have a good vantage point, to be sure, so my impression may be incorrect, but the challengers all seemed to me to run campaigns that had a kind of ad hoc feeling about them.
