And I was only the lucky 13th voter. No lit outside except for the 17th Ward organization handing out sample ballots endorsing Slay, Green, and Roddy. The only signs I saw were a couple of Slay signs the proper distance from the door, and some Elston McCowan signs (there’s also a Green Party primary today) illegally placed too close to the polling location.
I was also “randomly selected” outside the front door for an UMSL exit poll. I suspect it wasn’t so random – I was probably the only person who actually would stop to fill out the form on a very frosty morning.
8:30. Lots of people outside handing out literature but that’s because there are so many people running for alderperson in the 23d. I forgot to look at my number. There was one person voting and one person in line when I came in and there was one person who came after me while I was there. I usually go at the same time and that’s a low number of people, although not significantly lower on these types of city elections.
For some reason, he thinks:
I guess Patterson is just completely naive about the city of St. Louis. BTW, he also adds:
This, as far as I can tell, completely undermines all arguments that Slay was actually a “good” mayor. Oh well.
