In the words of Gomer Pyle, “Surprise, surprise, surprise”
Important questions to consider
1) How fast will Roy Blunt complete the makeover from being an insider amongst DC Republicans and a friend of lobbyists to being some form of “anti-DC/anti-lobbyist candidate”?
2) How fast will the other prospective candidates get in or get out?
3) Will Roy Blunt be the Kenny Hulshof of 2010?
4) Who will defeat Gary Nodler in the Republican primary for the 7th District Congressional seat?
From the News-Leader:
HAHA HA HA HAHAHA HA HA
There’s not going to be a seven-man Republican primary. If such a thing is threatened, I think people will get hung out of windows by their ankles.
The best bet is that it’ll be Springfield v. Joplin again. And somehow it will be made interesting through some form of vote-splitting.. something..
Yeah, Marsh is also going to be 70 in 2010, and he’s fresh off endorsing Jay Nixon in 2008. So don’t bet on Marsh winning unless there’s a giant field of candidates.
Two reasonable bets for the big three, candidate-wise.
Schoeller v. Nodler v. Marsh
Schoeller v. Stevenson v. Marsh
Ok, I guess Jack Goodman could show up to make things more interesting too.
Republicans have never learned that “A” and “not-A” can’t coexist. That’s why Blunt doesn’t even have bother with a makeover. Remember the last election when a Republican insider (with a history with shady financial deals) and his fundie sidekick ran as “mavericks” who were going to clean up Washington?
