Literally.
I am watching the presser, and feeling a profound sense of relief. There is not a person on that stage I wish wasn’t there. And literally, as I began to feel relief at the sight of all those grown-ups who aren’t ashamed of being smart, the overcast sky began to clear and the day began brightening up a little.
Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State is a master stroke. It is on a par with Eleanor Roosevelt as U.N. ambassador. But I am a fan of both of those women and proud of it.
Robert Gates is what passes for successful in this clusterfuck, keeping him makes sense.
Listening to these appointees speak, I am feeling like I am watching an all-star fantasy team take the court.
If anybody can get up on top of this and fix it, it’s these men and women.
