Yeah, they didn’t even have the decency to wait a few days to start raising prices. The day after the election:

What a bunch of chumps.
That’s still cheap compared to St. Louis city prices.
Nevertheless, yes, it always nice to see that gas prices are only influenced by basic supply and demand economics. Really, it costs the petro-companies just so much $$$ to pull the crude out of the ground and distill it that they have no choice but to pass these wildly fluctuating (but yet somehow consistently high) expenses directly onto the consumer.
Thankfully, profiteering or even politically-motivated price fixing play no role here whatsoever.
gas prices in my neighborhood went from $2.03 Wednesday night to $1.99 today.
