Here are the 8 Days Before barebones summaries for the Grubb v. McGhee race

Committee: GRUBB FOR THE HOUSE

2. ALL MONETARY CONTRIBUTIONS RECEIVED THIS PERIOD: $13,505.12

11. EXPENDITURES MADE BY CASH OR CHECK THIS PERIOD: $34,558.80

28. MONEY ON HAND AT THE CLOSE OF THIS REPORTING PERIOD: $544.07

Very nice, good amount of money coming in, lots going out (she spent $14K going into this period).

How about the incumbent Mike McGhee?

Committe: CITIZENS TO RE-ELECT MIKE MCGHEE

2. ALL MONETARY CONTRIBUTIONS RECEIVED THIS PERIOD: $5,125.00

11. EXPENDITURES MADE BY CASH OR CHECK THIS PERIOD: $12,656.58

28. MONEY ON HAND AT THE CLOSE OF THIS REPORTING PERIOD: $12,721.30

Mike McGhee’s only consolation after being outspent 3 to 1, and outraised 2 to 1 in 20 days is that money on hand number. And he’ll do more with that money than buy dummies for roadside ads.

As for the money going in and out.. to correct my previous report, Paul LeVota did give $1000 to Beth Grubb. My apologies for the oversight. Beth also got help from other incumbent Democrats intent on getting the majority back. Beth spent most of her money on mailings.

McGhee got two donations from individuals, and a few more from committees, law firms, and other groups. He split his money on radio ads, newspaper ads, and mailings. McGhee also gave $250 to Kenny Hulshof’s soon-to-be failed Gubernatorial candidacy.

So, in conclusion, it’s still competitive, and the odds of an upset are pretty good.
