Lame duck Governor Matt Blunt took time out from his schedule to present a conspiracy theory (and he used your money to do it too):
Gov. Matt Blunt and Republicans are accusing Barack Obama’s campaign of assembling a “truth squad” with law enforcement officials to intimidate Obama critics from speaking out against the Democratic presidential candidate.
Yet a top Republican National Committee official admits the Democratic prosecutors from across Missouri “haven’t specifically said” they would use their prosecutorial powers on Obama’s behalf.
A little more on Matt Blunt’s hysterical overreaction under the fold.
But even the Springfield media can’t resist hitting the hometown boy on this inane attack.
Using his taxpayer-funded press office to level a political attack, Blunt issued a statement Saturday to denounce the unproven allegations.
In case you were wondering who was in the dreaded corps of people causing Matt Blunt to weep and gnash his teeth..
The group includes prosecutors from St. Louis (Robert P. McCulloch), Dunklin (Steve Sokoloff), Lafayette (Page Bellamy), Cass (Teresa Hensley), Clay (Dan White), Ripley (Chris Miller), Audrain (Jason Lamb) and Jackson (Jim Kanatzar) counties volunteering to be surrogates for Obama on their own time.
Now, leaving aside easy jokes about the indictment-ripe Blunt being scared of multiple prosecutors. Should these guys just not mention that they hold elective office? Anyways, with the legions of lies about Obama, we need a lot of people to tell the truth.
Governor, stop whining, and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
