We all remember the Citizens for McCain endorsement list right? it was a list where variety of Democrats with experience in endorsing Republicans came together to endorse another Republican.

But a funny thing happened when I began to look for one of the people on that list. The person I decided to look for was Former State Representative Jim Gamache of Missouri. After all, I wanted to see what part of the state he represented in the Missouri State House or anything similar.

The catch?

No one named Jim Gamache ever served in the Missouri State House

That’s right, former Missouri state Rep. Jim Gamache may not be a former State Rep, but he definately never held that office in Missouri.

Skimming Newsmeat doesn’t lead me to any McCain donors named Jim Gamache (but there are two others Gamache’s supporting McCain, so he has the slight edge with that surname).

Essentially there is an elusive Jim Gamache here and he either served in some elective office outside of Missouri. Or he got onto the Citizens for McCain list for an office he never held at all.

It’s a tradition to keep putting people on the “Democrats for [current Republican]” list even if they’ve been endorsing Republicans for decades (or in the case of Earl Blackwell in 2004, he made Blunt’s Democrats list even after switching to the Republicans in 1992)..

but, it’s probably a new thing to just list people with made up job titles.
