I just want to start by saying “Hi” to everyone here.  I found this site through a member’s link at kos.  While I’m pretty much a lurker who doesn’t comment or post, I do like to keep up on things and will try to make it out to a couple of events (maybe drinking liberally?).  

I received a robocall tonight from Victory Research.  A nice grandmotherly voice told me about SCNT Amendment 2 and that it gave our tax money to non-government institutions.  She told me the people supporting this say that it could potentially save lives and those opposed to it say that it is a form of cloning and absolutly nothing shows that it would help anyone (I’m paraphrasing here).

She then wanted me to answer her question.  Do I think my tax dollars should be sent to non-government research institutions to support this?  Do I think my tax dollars would be better spent elsewhere?  Or am I undecided.  I, of course, support it.  This wasn’t one of those super obvious push polls, but it was definatly slanted in the info it gave.

Then I did a little checking (teh Google is a wonderful thing) on Victory Research.  They are a political organization out of Wheat Ridge, CO and they have done push polling here before for the Show Me Insitute for anti-public education.

Anyway…I thought this should be brought to someone’s attention (and I’d like to know if other people have gotten this phone call) but I’m not sure who should be notified of this.  So I decided to actually get an account here and post it.  If you have any suggestions or questions, don’t hesitate to post.
