From the Webster-Kirkwood Times:

On Wednesday, May 28, U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill will fulfill a long-held dream – of her teenage daughter’s, that is. McCaskill will appear on Comedy Central’s the Colbert Report. McCaskill says the Colbert Report – a parody of today’s news program and political punditry starring Stephen Colbert – is a show she and her daughter enjoy watching together.

“There are few things in this world that make my daughter laugh the way the Colbert Report does. With her birthday coming up soon, it seemed like a unique gift to have her come with me to laugh at Stephen Colbert making fun of her mom. I’m not sure what I’ve gotten myself into, but at least she won’t forget her 19th birthday.”

That’s this Wednesday night, the 28th at 10:30 central time.

It’s gutsy of her to brave Colbert. If I were Claire, I’d have a riposte ready for when he says something along these lines: “I’m with you, Senator McCaskill, on giving the telecoms immunity for spying on us. Those Commies on the left wing of your party just don’t understand that AT&T and Verizon have our best interests at heart. They love us like a brother, and I don’t mean like Big Brother.”
