12-year-old boy left alone on sidewalk after ICE raid in Massachusetts
Updated on: May 13, 2025 / 11:59 AM EDT / CBS Boston

A 12-year-old boy was left behind on a street after an immigration raid in Waltham, Massachusetts.

United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were seen on camera leaving the boy by himself on a sidewalk after arresting the person he was with on Felton Street on Sunday, May 4. Neighborhood Watch volunteers were able to get the boy home safely.

Worcester leaders, community activists denounce Thursday’s ICE arrest and police response

Trajan Warren GBH News

May 09, 2025
The NAACP Worcester branch is calling for a formal investigation into ICE agents detaining a woman Thursday and Worcester Police Department arresting another woman during the same incident as dozens of neighbors attempted to intervene.

Fred Taylor Sr., president of the NAACP Worcester, was one of several Worcester and state leaders to speak on Friday about the incident. Taylor urged transparency about what transpired and promises that it won’t happen again.

“The Worcester police showed up yesterday with overwhelming numbers. That was totally uncalled for,” Taylor said. “Our local police is not tasked to protect ICE. They’re here to protect the people and they should behave that way.”

Statement by U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley Regarding Attempts to Obstruct ICE Operations
Wednesday, May 14, 2025

For Immediate Release
U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Massachusetts
“The interference with ICE operations around Massachusetts has been disturbing, to say the least. This conduct poses significant public and officer safety risks. It is conduct that should be vilified rather than glorified. I will not stand idly by if any public official, public safety officer, organization or private citizen acts in a manner that criminally obstructs or impedes ICE operations. The United States Attorney’s Office, along with our federal partners, will investigate any violations of federal law and pursue charges that are warranted by such activity.”

Updated May 14, 2025

Apparently brown shirts are not required for ICE agents and their “federal partners”. Maybe they’ll add them to the line item for uniforms, IDs, badges, and standard face masks in next year’s budget.

Principles of International Law Recognized in the Charter of the Nüremberg Tribunal and in the Judgment of the Tribunal, 1950.

Principle IV
The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him.

Elizabeth Warren, Lawrence O'Donnell, Massachusetts, MSNBC

Mitt Romney’s (r) privilege gets dissected in thirty seconds by Massachusetts U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren (D):

Starting at 4:13 in the video:

…Lawrence O’Donnell: Do you understand the income category that Mitt Romney is in?

Elizabeth Warren (D): Yeah, actually, I think I do understand it. And that is that Mitt Romney pays fourteen percent of his income in taxes. And people who get out there and work for a living pay twenty-five, twenty-eight, thirty, thirty-three percent. I get it. Mitt Romney gets a better deal than any of the rest of us because he manages to earn his income in a way that has been specially protected for rich folks. I think that’s wrong….

Are you paying attention, Claire?

Elizabeth Warren (D) is running for the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts in 2012. Watch and learn:

Elizabeth Warren (D): My favorite part of looking at this hole, we got in this hole, uh, uh, one billion doll, uh, one trillion dollars on tax cuts for the rich under George Bush. We got into this hole two trillion dollars on two wars that we put on a credit card for our children and grandchildren to pay off. And we got into this hole one trillion dollars on a Medicare drug program that A, was not paid for, and B, is forty percent more expensive than it needs to be because it was a giveaway to the drug companies. So, we just have, I mean, that’s four trillion right there. [applause] So part of the way you fix this problem is, like, don’t do those things. [laughter][applause] Uh, no, I’m serious….

I hear all this, you know, well, this is class warfare, this is whatever. No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody. You built a factory out there, good for you. But I want to be clear, you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You, uh, were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory. And hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did. Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea. God bless. Keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid [applause] who comes along…

Any questions, Claire?
