Yesterday at midday approximately 150 individuals gathered at Mill Creek Park at 47th and Main in Kansas City for a rally and People’s March. The temperature was in the low 20s. After listening to speakers in the park the crowd marched through the Plaza.

“Defend. Deny. Depose.”
Telling someone something? Just asking.
“The Power of the People is Greater Than the People in Power”
“Women’s Rights Are Human Rights”
“Be Kind, Protect Immigrants”
“When the people have nothing left to eat, they will eat the rich”

“It’s easier to fool people than to convince people they have been fooled”

“We Won’t Go Back”
“I don’t know how to get you to care about other people”

What group organizes this? Because last week I looked online for announcements and found nothing.
Checking online in general can be helpful for finding information – for a combination of reasons there appear to be fewer widely broadcast calls for social action. It might be helpful to reach out to your network of like-minded friends and ask if they’re hearing about any organizing efforts. Keep checking in with them. I suspect that more of these actions will be smaller and organized by word of mouth.
One person standing on a street corner with a sign is just as powerful as a large group. If like-minded individuals are everywhere the effect is immeasurable.
