{First, a cheap plug for my blog Senate Guru.}
Who are the Birthers? They are right-wing fringe lunatics who continue to question President Obama’s status as a natural born U.S. citizen. The idiotic ramblings of this fringe clan has been thoroughly debunked (and no debunking has been more thorough or more entertaining than The Daily Show’s).
Well, it turns out that Missouri Republican Roy Blunt is a Birther:
Blunt: What I don’t know is why the President can’t produce a birth certificate. I don’t know anybody else that can’t produce one. And I think that’s a legitimate question. No health records, no birth certificate…
Stark: He’s produced a certificate of live birth, right?
Blunt: Not that I – I don’t believe so.
For any doubters:
So, in short, Roy Blunt is casting his lot with the furthest right-wing fringe nutcases currently available. Is that the locomotive Missouri wants to hitch its car to?
here. It’s not just Blunt and its a scream! These people leave breathless with laughter.
Blunt dissed Medicare, says we never should’ve created it. Not a smooth move politically. Now he’s a birther. What next? Will he insist that the U.S. should nuke China rather than pay them what we owe? It’s like he’s on a campaign to defeat himself. Go, Roy!
I really think our good Congressman Blunt, if he really doesn’t know if Obama was born in the US, should introduce a Resolution demanding proof.
After all, if Obama is not a US citizen from birth, he should be immediately impeached, and Blunt knows how to impeach a US President.
Come on Roy. Put up or shut up!
“taken out of context”–just like Cynthia Davis was (though the bloggers quoted from her own newsletter at length and linked to it). The phrase is just boilerplate political evasion like “spend more time with my family.”
