The No Kings demonstration today in Lee’s Summit was scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. By 9:00 a.m. individuals started gathering in the cold to line the right of way along Chipman Road east of Douglas. By 10:15 a.m. over a thousand people were holding protest signs, with more arriving.
There was a significant amount of supportive horn honking from passing traffic. Early on a pair of Karens rolled down the windows on their SUV which was stopped at the the traffic signal to excoriate the protesters. The didn’t seem to be pleased about the large turnout:
