Missouri republicans came up with a candidate for Attorney General in 2012 who will be certain to drive the entire Democratic Party base to Attorney General Chris Koster (D).

The reactions:

St. Louis, MO – The following is a statement from Attorney General Chris Koster on Ed Martin’s entrance into the Attorney General’s race.

“I welcome Ed Martin to the race and look forward to a public discussion about the direction of our state. In 2008, Missourians embraced our campaign because they understood the importance of having an Attorney General who was a prosecutor, one who has personally stood in the courtroom and convicted many of Missouri’s most notorious criminals.  In 2012, I’m confident they will do so again.”

Why, that’s a model of decorum and understatement.

That seismic activity coming from the direction of Jefferson City is Attorney General Chris Koster (D) doing a happy dance.

The reaction from the Missouri Democratic Party:

Missouri Democratic Party Statement on Ed Martin

Jefferson City, Mo.–The Missouri Democratic Party released the following statement today after Ed Martin announced he is running for Attorney General:

“After declaring for Missouri’s 2nd and 3rd Congressional districts, the United States Senate and flirting with a run for Governor — all in just the last 24 months, Ed has now announced his intentions to run for Attorney General.  This most recent announcement makes five offices in the past two years that Ed has actively sought.  We welcome Ed to the race for how ever long he decides to stay,” said Caitlin Legacki, Missouri Democratic Party spokeswoman.

From Ed Martin (r – e-mail, what e-mail?):

Ed Martin to Take On Obama’s Lawyer Chris Koster:

Martin Seeks to Stop ObamaCare and

Take on Corruption

(St. Louis) – January 26, 2012 – Ed Martin today announced he will ask Missourians to support him as the state’s next Attorney General. Martin, a respected Missouri attorney, said he wants to restore the Attorney General’s office to one that respects the rule of law and represents a check on state government, not a checkmark for liberal politics and policies like ObamaCare.  Martin said current Attorney General Chris Koster has acted as President Obama’s lawyer, not the people’s Attorney General….

Yep, Chris Koster (D) is doing a happy dance.
